Corcentric — Empty-State Illustrations & Icons
For Corcentric’s B2B financial software, we created a family of illustrations and icons that bring clarity, warmth and personality to moments that might otherwise feel empty or technical.
Used across empty states, actions and system messages, the artwork helps people understand what has happened and what they can do next.

Making quiet moments useful
Empty states are more than spaces waiting for content. They can explain a situation, offer reassurance and gently guide someone towards the next action.
We used illustration as a functional part of the experience, turning messages such as “no records found,” "access denied” and “connection lost” into moments that feel more considered and approachable.
Colour with a purpose
We built the illustration palette around Corcentric’s existing blues and greys, adding warm yellow accents to give the artwork energy without overpowering the interface.
Touches of red and green were used sparingly and purposefully: red for errors or negative states, and green for successful actions and positive feedback.
One visual language, many situations
The final set covered actions such as adding or uploading a file, alongside messages including “no new orders,” “add to your cash flow,” “access denied” and “connection lost.”
A consistent palette, illustration style and visual language allowed every image to feel distinctive while remaining clearly part of the same product.
